The preamps and EQ overall are much like the later "neve" gear, be it Amek 9098 or Portico. Really distinct with a "grab" not at all like anything else. well over the preamps and EQ is the tone of the of the 2-mix compressors which was TOTALLY different from the channel compressors in the reissue "strip" boxes. Personally, the distinct Focusrite sound I miss the most. can't say they all sit on the same levels. I've sat behind the Focusrite desk that was installed the (sadly) defunct Bear Tracks in NY used the ISA110 "reissue" stuff from a decade ago and the newer 428/828 preamps. The "BIG ISA" sound? What is that, exactly? Not sure which of these posts make me wanna hang myself more. Furthermore, no security is promised or implied by The Gear Page owners, administrators, or moderators.
